All "white" washdown hoses are not built the same. Poseidon (formerly Sani-Wash Plus) washdown hose has a smooth, non-marking cover that is resistant to oil, grease, animal fats, and abrasion (not suitable for air transfer). Oily products cause standard EPDM hoses to swell and eventually fail. The Poseidon hose is recommended for hot or cold water washdown, common in food processing plants, dairies, packing houses, bottling plants, breweries, and canneries. The Poseidon washdown is a flexible, kink-resistant, user-friendly hose that can be cleaned easily and is available on long length reels. The tube is NOT designed to transfer food products. External bend restrictors typically not used due to possibility of bacteria build up.

Construction: Tube: Smooth, black Chemigum rubber. Cover: Smooth, white Chemivic rubber blend. Reinforcement: Spiral synthetic cords.

Typical Fittings: N400L long Brass Barbs (higher temp/PSI), N511/512 Long shank brass GHT ends, N2280 stainless hose swivels, stainless WC-SS crimp sleeves, N52 punch clamps. For HOT water applications long shank/long barb fittings are required. If using cleaning chemicals or sanitizers, always confirm if they are compatible with the nitrile rubber compounds of this hose. Temperature Range: -29°C (-20°F) to +98.8°C (210°F)

Detail Comments: This hose is made of nitrile rubber compounds (tube and cover) that may not be suitable for use with certain cleaning chemicals, solvents, detergents or sanitizers; such solutions can have an adverse effect on the hose, resulting in reduced service life or failure. Ensure compatibility by referring to the manufacturer's chemical resistance chart. Inspect hose before each use.
