Brewery Hydrometers, Alcohol Thermometers, & Sanitary Gauges

Hydrometers are used to measure the alcoholic strengths / content of spirits or beer, based on the percentage of alcohol by volume at 20°C (70°F). Hydrometers are manufactured in accordance with government guidelines and must be re-certified every 5 years. Certification is approximately $25 per instrument and is billed directly by a government inspection facility to the end user. For further details on Hydrometer Certification, contact Canada Customs & Excise Tel # 613-954-8239. The Alcohol Hydrometer has a temperature range of +0°C (+32°F) to +80°C (+176°F) and has an overall length of 11.8" (300mm) with a 1.5" (38mm) bulb and .15" (4mm) stem, all manufactured of glass. The scale is a white background with black graduations (graduations every 0.2 kg/m3, accuracy is +/-0.2 of full scale). The Alcohol Thermometer has a temperature range of -25°C (-13°F) to +45°C (+113°F) and has an overall length of 9.8" (250mm) of mercury filled glass with a scale range subdivided every 0.5°C. Calibrated for total immersion with glass ring top for suspension in trial jar. Maximum allowable error +/-0.3°C.
