Universal Hose Ends - Heavy Pattern Brand, Machined Barbs - 254
The N32D / N33D / N34D line of universal fittings are manufactured to stricter tolerances and a heavier pattern compared to the standard N30 series universal ends. The N32D "machined" barbed hose end offers superior retention against coupling blow out (for added safety, ends should be coupled with a crimp sleeve). Maximum pressure is 150 psi air or water (not for steam service) and safety clips & restraints are always recommended.
Our 'Air-King' brand 4-lug Universals can be used for 1-1/4 - 2" water or air to 150psi at ambient temperatures (20°C/70°F). They are NOT for use with steam. We do not recommend crimp sleeves on 1-1/4"-2" 4-lug cast iron Universals, the cast barb design is not compatible with modern crimping technology (use Interlocking Ground Joint Bolt Clamps). Although the manufacturer of Air-King brand permits them for use with air, at New-Line we do not recommend 4-lug Universals for critical applications as they are an older legacy product that is of inadequate design for proper coupling integrity and do not provide a high enough level of safety or reliability - especially in applications subject to pressure and/or temperature. For compressed air in sizes over 1", we recommended to use "Dixon Boss Ground Joints" or "Campbell Viton Seal Ground Joint Couplings" - not 4-Lug Universals. Safety clips & restraints are highly recommended to prevent accidental disconnection, and never disconnect any hose while under pressure.
