These N52PL/N53PL Preformed Traditional Type are not designed for thin walled PVC/Rubber layflat hoses, nor most hard walled PVC suction hoses, as the buckle does not provide a 360° smooth seal and may leak. They are better suited for thicker hardwall or softwall rubber hoses where sufficient wall compression can seal under the buckle. Our N54-/N55- Open End style are for field repair where an end is already in place, and the preformed clamp cannot slide over the hose or pipe. All Punch Clamps are used in conjunction with any of our center punch tools/machine; they provide a secure, quick and easy installation method for on-site "non-critical application" repairs (NOT for use with steam, large bore air hoses, hazardous gases, or other critical applications - must be installed with a fully trained assembler).
