Gear clamps are designed for low pressure, non-critical applications where a general purpose, easily installed clamp is desired. They are popular in automotive, marine, agricultural, food, and various industrial applications. Unlike competing "low-end" brands, our gear clamps have a very low defect ratio, provide higher torque ratings, have a thicker band, and are made from high quality materials. It is good practice to check torqueing at regular intervals while in service. For SAE "nominal" sizes on gear clamps, simply divide the part number suffix by 16 (as an example, -08 is 1/2" nominal size, -20 is 1-1/4" nominal, -32 is 2" nominal, etc.)
